Hallelujah! Praise, you servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord.
Blessed be the name of the Lord both now and forever.
From the rising of the sun to its setting let the name of the Lord be praised.
High above all nations is the Lord; above the heavens God's glory.
Who is like the Lord, our God enthroned on high,
looking down on heaven and earth?
The Lord raises the needy from the dust, lifts the poor from the ash heap,
Seats them with princes, the princes of the people,
Gives the childless wife a home, the joyful mother of children. Hallelujah!

This is, to me, like a small beatitudes. I say that because the beatitudes always appeared to be somewhat oxymoronic. Blessed are the hungry for they shall be filled? What?? Blessed are you when men curse you? Seriously, I am blessed when I am cursed?? Of course these things can only be so when Jesus is applied to the calculation. The Lord lifts up the poor and seats them with princes. The Lord will bless the childless woman with children. How can such things be? The first three verses of this psalm explains, as does Psalm 1:2-3... praise the name of the Lord, bless the name of the Lord. All day long.
